A School Model Built to Adapt — Not Ask Students to Conform
WiloStar3D Academy was designed from the ground up to support neurodiverse learners — including students with ADHD, dyslexia, autism spectrum profiles, executive function challenges, anxiety, giftedness, and twice-exceptionality.
Neurodiverse support is not a separate program at WiloStar3D.
It is woven into how learning is designed, taught, and experienced every day.

A Different Starting Point
Many students struggle in traditional classrooms not because they lack ability, but because the learning environment does not match how they process information.
WiloStar3D begins with a different assumption:
If we design learning to be visual, creative, interactive, and guided, more students will succeed naturally.
Immersive learning, live instruction, and creative projects, both 3D builds and hands on, are not accommodations — they are the foundation.
Teacher-Led Support in Real Time
One of the most important supports for neurodiverse learners is immediate access to teachers.
At WiloStar3D:
- Students attend live class meetings with their teachers
- Teachers are present during live Study Hall sessions inside Wiloworlds during office hours
- Questions are answered as they arise — not hours or days later
- Guidance is proactive, not reactive
This real-time support reduces frustration, anxiety, and disengagement.
Multiple Ways to Access Learning
Lessons at WiloStar3D are designed to be accessible in multiple formats.
Depending on student needs, learning may include:
- Microsoft Immersive Reader for text support
- audio-supported readings and novels
- visual scaffolding and structured layouts
- clear step-by-step instructions
- reduced visual clutter
These tools allow students to focus on meaning and understanding, rather than getting stuck decoding text.
Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)
Students who require formal accommodations are supported through Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
ILPs may include:
- adjusted pacing or workload
- alternative output formats
- modified reading expectations within a defined threshold
- organizational and executive function supports
- targeted strategies for attention and focus
ILPs are living documents, reviewed and adjusted as students grow.
Importantly, ILPs are implemented within the classroom experience, not in isolation.
Creative Demonstration of Understanding
Neurodiverse learners often struggle to show what they know through traditional written output alone.
At WiloStar3D, students regularly demonstrate understanding through:
- immersive 3d virtual world builds and Knowledge Towers
- visual explanations
- avatar-based storytelling and dialogue
- structured creative projects
By allowing students to express learning in different ways, teachers gain a clearer picture of understanding — and students gain confidence.

Reducing Overload While Preserving Challenge
Support at WiloStar3D is about removing barriers, not lowering expectations.
Teachers work to:
- reduce unnecessary cognitive load
- focus on essential learning goals
- break tasks into manageable steps
- support students in organizing ideas
This helps students engage meaningfully while still being challenged to grow.
Executive Function & Emotional Support
Many neurodiverse students struggle with organization, initiation, or emotional regulation.
WiloStar3D supports these needs through:
- predictable daily rhythms
- clear expectations and routines
- live guidance during work time
- consistent communication between teachers, students, and parents
Students are supported in building independence gradually, with guidance along the way.
A School Where Neurodiverse Students Belong
At WiloStar3D, neurodiverse learners are not asked to “catch up” or “fit in.”
They are supported as:
- thinkers
- creators
- problem-solvers
- learners with unique strengths
For many students, this is the first environment where learning feels both challenging and achievable.
Partnering with Families
Parents are not expected to teach lessons or manage accommodations on their own.
Teachers handle instruction, adaptation, and assessment.
Parents support consistency at home and communicate with the school.
This partnership helps students succeed both academically and emotionally.

- How do teachers support focus, organization, and executive function?
WiloStar3D supports a wide range of neurodiverse learners, including students with ADHD, dyslexia, autism spectrum profiles, executive function challenges, anxiety, giftedness, and twice-exceptionality. Many of our students are highly creative thinkers who struggled in traditional or purely online environments before finding success here.
No. A formal diagnosis or IEP is not required for enrollment. While we do support students with existing plans, many families come to WiloStar3D because their child needs a more adaptive learning environment — not a label. Support is based on observed needs and communication with families, not paperwork alone. Students do need to have adequat computer skills and ideally gaming experince due to virtual world aspect of our program. Additionally, students need to be no more than 1.5 grade levels below in reading.
Lessons are designed with built-in flexibility. Depending on a student’s needs, teachers may adjust pacing, provide audio-supported readings, use Microsoft Immersive Reader tools, offer alternate formats, or scaffold instructions more carefully. Students work within an appropriate reading threshold while still engaging with meaningful ideas and creative projects.
Yes. Many gifted and twice-exceptional students thrive at WiloStar3D because they are challenged through creative problem-solving, higher-order thinking, and original work — while still receiving support where needed. Our approach allows students to explore ideas deeply without being limited by traditional output expectations.
Support at WiloStar3D is about removing barriers, not lowering expectations. Students are encouraged to think deeply, make connections, and express understanding in original ways. Teachers balance challenge with flexibility so students can grow academically without unnecessary stress.
Teachers provide clear routines, structured expectations, and real-time guidance during the live class meetings. This help students stay grounded and supported, while projects are broken into manageable steps. Over time, students build independence with guidance rather than being left to manage everything alone. But don’t misunderstand. WiloStar is not set up to have a live teacher standing in front of the screen lecturing and teaching live all day. This is a blended learning experience with both live expectations and teaching as well as self-directed activities.
