Typical Day at WiloStar3D Academy

Students enrolled with WiloStar3D Academy are expected to have adequate computer expertise, be very self-motivated, and have a love of technology. Students are expected to remain current with all class assignments and to participate on a regular basis in our 3D virtual learning community called Wiloworlds. Many times instruction involves collaborative projects and it is the responsibility of each student to work as a team member.

After enrollment, students receive a temporary password to access the new student orientation area inside Wiloworlds virtual learning area. The orientation center has video tutorials, a downloadable student handbook and full instructions on how to submit assignments.

In this example of a daily routine we will show how a WiloStar3D Academy student goes about their school day.

8:00 a.m. Daniel enters the WiloStar3D campus and "walks" over to the main school building. He enters and walks toward the study hall and library. He notices he has a telegram. It is from his teacher telling him to check his daily feedback sheet in the WiloStar3D course area. Daniel takes his seat in study hall and then clicks on a 3D book to launch his personal daily feedback sheet. This  integrated in world Web page has comments on his progress as well as suggestions and grades for completed assignments. His instructor has sent back revisions to the historical fiction piece he was working on in English. Daniel's story involved Colonial America, something he was also studying in social studies. Daniel reads the revisions and comments from his instructor and notes any missing assignments he needs to do today.

8:20-Daniel decides to read and print out the daily assignment sheet. He makes sure he checks the 3D virtual class conference schedule as this can sometimes involve 3d building projects and presentations and he wants to be prepared!

8:30-11:00 Daniel gets started on the daily assignments. He decides to start reading the next twenty pages of The Cay, a novel he is reading to compliment his middle school oceanography module. Today's conference deals with literature so Daniel wants to be prepared.

11:15-12:00 Online class meeting inside the 3D virtual classroom.

12:00 : Lunch and time for a break!

1:00-2:00 Next stop is science. Daniel follows the Web links and researches information for his 3D ocean zones display. After his research Daniel teleports into the 3D virtual ocean world and works on his ocean zone.

2:00-3:00 Math: Daniel brings up Aleks.com and logs on to start his math for the day.

Last stop is to upload the day's work!
